My Next Spin Around The Sun: All In

Reflections from my 35th year of life and what I’m calling in for my 36th spin.

I celebrated 36 years Earthside on September 6th.

My birthday has always aligned with the beginning of a new school year and each year I feel like I get a fresh start. The “new year, new me” mentality flows hard for me each September.

In 2019, my daughter was born 9 days before I turned 32. Her birth shifted my relationship to the celebration of my own.

Entering motherhood set off a seismic shift of both upheaval and growth. Even though I turned 36, in many ways, I feel as if I celebrated 36 years in my physical body and 4 years of Being. 

There is no other way I can articulate that. Some of you may relate if you, too, have experienced an event that cascaded a monumental reset - mentally, spiritually, emotionally.

A few nights before my Birth-day, I sat down to reflect on the lessons I learned this past year. Initially, the page sat blank. And, as I contemplated that - I realized that was my first lesson: as of late, my learnings and revelations have been slow to unfold. In this season of life, I am not experiencing many burning bushes.
